ひびを大切に、ひびを工夫することであたらしい関係がうまれます。
そんなひびを継ぎながら、愛され永く受け継ぐことができるモノ・コトを提案します。

古来から割れたもの、欠けたもの、ひびが入ったものを不要とはせず
“金継ぎ”という技法で価値をつなげていました。
一度継ぐと離れない、ということからご祝儀道具ともされる縁起のいい技法。
金継ぎを施し、景色としてみたて愉しむ、別のものとつなげ価値を生みだす、
継ぎを美とし愉しむ、など修復の技法としてだけでないのが“金継ぎ”です。
「HIBITSUGI」は一度はくずれたモノコトでも修復し、さらにはより良いものへ
昇華することさえできるという、日本の美意識と技法を用いた作品です。
美しい技法と価値の考え方で、木材の活用法や愉しみ方をさらに広げ、
永く大切にものと共に時を刻むことができたらと願います。

‘HIBI’ means crack and daily life in Japan. By taking care of ‘HIBI’ and thinking out of ‘HIBI’, it will establish a
new relationship. We propose a product handed down from generation to generation by joining such a ‘HIBI’.

In Japan, there is a technique ‘repairing for good’ called ‘kintsugi’, old Japanese art form of repairing broken
ceramics in a way that is often considered more beautiful than when it was whole. ‘kintsugi’ is not only the
technique, but also a true celebration of traditional Japanese beauty, the aesthetic of broken, old or
disregarded. Thus, it is considered that ‘kintsugi’ is very congratulatory gift because pieces are stuck together
and won’t come apart. A design of ‘HIBITSUGI’ take advantage of such ‘kintsugi’, and it is a product with the
aesthetic and technique of Japanese tradition. We hope ‘HIBITSUGI’ will expand the utilizing and expectation
of wood with beautiful technique and value, and be enjoyed for a long life.
